Simple time lapse video of the process of how I create a workbench station built around a miter saw. The bench went together pretty quickly with almost no wasted lumber. Simple 3′ high by 8′ long by 23″ deep design. I also designed it to store my Porter + Cable air compressor, tool drawer, a waste basket and a nice place to park my WEN Thickness Planner carriage. i made my table based off this design. I did change up a few things like not doing the hinged top but great table overall and less than $40 for all the lumber and screws

I have watch countless videos on work stations and workbenches ect. I have seen this video today for the first time and this is the one I'm going to build. Awesome bench Brett, keep up the good work.

Never saw anybody move so fast!!! Awesome design. As was said before, the hinged top is a great idea.
Could this station be built with 2x3s? Around here, they are about a dollar cheaper than 2x4s, and while that is not much, it does add up. I looked around to find a strength comparison between 2x3s and 2x4s, and all I found were arguements about it, but no numbers in terms of weight bearing abilities. Since this station will not be holding huge amounts of weight, will this be Ok? What does everybody think? Thank You
