Works just as stated. As a retired tool trainer of 40 yrs for Sears know that it is not always the battery that is not working properly. It may also be the tool or more common the charger. Remember that Non Use of a power tool can be harder on the tool than hard use. Make sure you follow the owners manual on charging procedure and check All metal contacts for oxidation.

This battery fits my Craftsman 19.2 volt cordless drill perfectly . The red retainer clips on the sides of the battery fit my drill motor fine, and the battery does not fall out. The battery also fits into the Craftsman one hour ” smart” charger . If this battery lasts , it will have been a terrific buy. My only complaint is that , of the 5 screws that hold the battery together, two of them were stripped, and had fallen out into the box. Actually, the self tapping steel screws were in good shape, but the plastic bosses inside the battery case had been broken off , probably by over-tightening the screws during the factory assembly. I used a 4-40 tap to put threads into the holes of the remaining broken bosses, and used long 4-40 machine screws to replace the missing screws. I also use these 19.2 volt NiCad batteries in my 16.8 volt Craftsman drill. It’s worked fine for several years now . One small modification ( removed a small strip of plastic) to the drill where the battery fits was necesssary. I don’t recommend making any modifications to the charger itself, however. Surprisingly, there are high voltage contacts down inside of the charger tunnel.
