Amazing…until it breaks,
Wish I’d bought one sooner!,
This tool offers plenty to torque at 35 ft-lbs to remove or install bolts (or nuts) that have been broken free of tightened toque (using a manual rachet or this unit AS a manual ratchet) even if stubbornly tight from rust/sealant/etc. HF offers an electric ratchet that advertises 60 ft-lb , but frankly that can be too much for comfort or safety with small fasteners, and the lighter, cheaper, and shorter (more convenient) Milwaukee ratchet is perfect IMO.
Used to be a great product, but not anymore.,
Starting in mid 2017, as the initial units were replaced, I noticed the “new” units had significantly less power than the older ratchets did and they were failing much faster. The last ratchet I bought, only survived 2 months before the motor froze up. Incidentally, this one has been primarily used for interior work, so it’s had an easy (albeit short) life.
I’m not sure if Milwaukee has recently sourced a new manufacturer or changed the specs, but the overall quality is not what I expect from such a trusted name.
For a professional user, there doesn’t seem to be much selection for cordless ratchets save for the tool truck brands. I’ve had great luck with Ingersoll Rand’s new line of cordless impacts, so I might try their new cordless ratchet and let Milwaukee figure out where they went wrong on what used to be a great product.
